If you’re muddled by managing concerns or dazed by disciplinary issues then don’t despair – new resources are on hand to help out.

Four new sets of guidelines have been produced by the Child Protection in Sport team which cover:

  • Disciplinary Issues relating to a Child Protection Concern
  • Reviewing the Management of a Child Protection Concern
  • Assessing the Risk in Child Protection and Sport
  • Participation (How to involve children and young people in running a club or group)

These resources, which can be downloaded free, may help national governing bodies of sport work towards the outcomes of the 2006 Accord. Clubs and other activity groups may also find them useful to ensure they are up-to-date to with best practice in the vital area of child protection.

The Child Protection in Sport service are keen to hear any feedback on these resources. You can contact the team on 0141 418 5674 or by email: cpinsport@children1st.org.uk .
